1. Generalities

MFD2010 will be held in the city of Rennes, capital of Brittany, in France, June 21-24, 2010. Rennes is a very active city in sciences and the arts, close to the sea, with many tourist opportunities. Mont Saint-Michel is 40 mns by car from Rennes as is Saint-Malo. There are two main Universities in Rennes. Our University Rennes 1 (UR1) is an interdisplinary University spread over three campus, one for health, one for economy, management and law, and the campus of Beaulieu for sciences. The congress will take place at the DIAPASON, the cultural center of the UR1 located on the campus of Beaulieu.

There are several buses coming from the center of Rennes to the campus of Beaulieu. The main stops on the campus are "Tournebride" and "Campus Beaulieu". The journey takes about 10 minutes. More information can be found on the web site of the bus company STAR. The DIAPASON will be indicated by posters on the campus.

3. How to travel to Rennes

There is an airport near Rennes and if you arrive by plane you will have to take a taxi from the airport to the city center. It may be more convenient to travel first to Paris and then take a "TGV" (High speed train) from "Gare Montparnasse" to Rennes. The TGV takes about 2:10 Hours. There are also TGV to Rennes directly from the airport Roissy-Charles de Gaulle. Informations and reservations are available on the web site of the  SNCF. The train station is close to the center of Rennes and most hotels are within aesy walking distance.

In Rennes itself, there are numerous taxis and buses as well as a subway.
